Archanis System

The main star system inside the Archanis Sector, Archanis is home to four planets of which Archanis IV is inhabited. The system's star is a Class K dwarf.

Sitting astride the border between the Federation and the Klingon Empire, the system was disputed between the two powers well into the 23rd Century. In 2267, the Klingons ceded it to its rival per the guidelines established by the Treaty of Organia. The Federation controlled the system until late 2373, when the Klingons attacked and reclaimed it for the Empire. It was returned upon cessation of hostilities some months later.

Of interest is the planet Archanis II, a massive Class I gas supergiant with 58 known moons. Starfleet vessels used the planet's moons during the Second Federation-Klingon War to hide among before mounting raids on supply convoys throughout the sector.
