Ceti Alpha System

The Ceti Alpha System is located within the Mutara Sector near the border with the Klingon Empire. Until 2267, the system was home to six planets orbiting a G1V main sequence star.

Capt. James T. Kirk exiled Khan Noonien Singh and his Augments to this system in 2267, specifically Ceti Alpha V. Six months later, a small, rogue blackhole impacted the outer-most planet and destroyed it. The resulting explosion knocked Ceti Alpha V off its axis, turning it into a wasteland. Twenty-two years later, the USS Reliant visited the planet looking for a suitable world to test the Genesis Device on. The Augments hijacked the ship so Singh could carry out his revenge on Kirk. (The Original Series: "Space Seed"; STII: The Wrath of Khan).

Later that year, Admiral Kirk and crew disobeyed orders to look for Capt. Spock in the system. They not only found him, but also Klingons wanting the secrets of the Genesis Device. ("STIII: The Search for Spock")
