Marine Duty Uniform

The Grenadier is a combat specialist trained in dynamic entry and close quarters battle (CQB). Marine Grenadiers hold the same ranks as regular light infantry regiments and will usually be constituted as teams of either a Squad, Section or Platoon size. The Marine Corps operates a limited number of Grenadier regiments for CQB, but they are usually assigned to Marine Battalions to increase their combat flexibility.

In some regiments, Marines specialising in the utilisation of the Mark 23, 24 or 25 Grenade Launcher are referred to as Grenadiers, however these should not be confused with CQB Grenadiers and can be differentiated by their arm patch, as a qualified CQB Grenadier will have a CQB School flash. They report to their Squad Leader or to the Marine Commanding Officer.
