Search and Rescue Medical Specialist

The Search and Rescue Medical Team is a self-contained, self-sufficient unit established to provide necessary treatment, perform surgery, and provide post-operative care immediately while on-site, regardless of conditions. The rapid care given to a patient might make the difference between death or life.

The medical team is led by a Surgeon, who has a sufficient number of medics and corpsman to assist him in carrying out his duties. After stabilization, patients are either transported to their indigenous medical facility or to the ship for specialized or prolonged treatment.

The SAR Medical Team shuttle is specially equipped and can best be described as a 24th Century ambulance corps, so that treatment may be continued during transport. This is especially vital in situations where transporter technology cannot be used.

Please refer to the ship type to ensure that it supports an SAR team before filling this position.
