Starbase 343

Starbase 343 is a medical supply station near Deneb. It finds itself dealing with the Ferengi more than most Starfleet posts. Since Starfleet pays honestly, in credits, Ferengi anywhere in the region take medical supplies, biological samples, or anything else that looks vaguely scientific here for resale. Due to the volume of traffic, the harried administrative staff can't always keep track of everything, and the inventory lockers contain all manner of weird items "found on an empty planet" by Ferengi traders.
