Theta VII is the last planet of the relatively unexplored Theta 116 System. Like all the other planets in the system, it is a gas giant (trans-Jovian). During it's visit in 2365, the USS Enterprise-D estimated the planet's age at 7.2x10 to the twelfth power. Its atmosphere is mostly nitrogen and methane, with about 14% liquid neon mixed in. Average surface temperature is minus 291 degrees and wind speeds remain at a constant 320 m/s. Tornadoes of pure ammonia are common occurrences.

Although there were no signs of a native species, the Enterprise discovered the remains of an enclosed installation believed to have been constructed by an unknown intelligence during the 21st Century. It was based on the novel Hotel Royale and was built for Col. Stephen Richey, the sole survivor of the Charybdis who was apparently (and unintentionally) transported here. Richey died in 2082.
