Mission: Misson 1 - Rebirth
Location: Operations Centre
Timeline: 3rd february 2395

ON:

Down in the Wolff's operations centre Binea sat at the chiefs desk going through the latest batch of crew embarkation reports and supply requests, so many supply requests had come through in the last few days and she was certain a considerable amount more would come across the desk as they got closer and closer to leaving.

Lieutenant Sika wasted no time in settling down his quarters for a long term stay, reporting in as necessary, and making his way towards Operations where a Lieutenant Binea had been 'holding the fort' in a interim capacity as Acting Chief Operations Officer. He knew nothing of Binea nor what she had done or how well she had done it. Regardless, Ops was going to be under his control from now on.

When he came upon the woman, he observed her for a brief moment before grabbing her attention. He cleared his throat and presented her with a PaDD. "Lieutenant Binea, your time as Acting Chief Operations Officer is appreciated. However, I am here to relieve you. Please inform me of anything significant that I should know about in order to make this transition more smoothly."

"Good morning Sir." Binea said looking up at the middle aged Bajoran, taking the Padd she glanced through it then stood up. "I stand releived." She walked around to in front of the desk.

"Well, that's good" he said with a nod. "Good morning to you as well, Lieutenant. What is our current situation and how has Operations been running while under your control?" he asked eager to get caught up to speed.

"The department is running as smoothly as it always has, current situation is, we're still taking on new crew and a few supply requests. Rumour has it we're due to leave in a few days so everyone is getting in their last minute requests." Binea replied.

Lieutenant Sika groaned a bit and nodded. He understood all too well. "And those last minute requests will be coming in as we are heading out. They always do that. Sometimes, the list of supply requests are endless" he said shaking his head. "I'll speak with the XO and reach out to the supply chief and see about freezing any new requests. Otherwise, we will get buried in requests."

"Most of the requests we've had are for minor things, most of it we can replicate if needs be. All the important stuff, weapons, medical and science supplies are fully stocked." Binea added.

"Small blessings" he replied. "Well, let's see to it that we have all those minor requests proccessed and completed by the time we depart. I don't want to be two weeks into our voyage and have some Crewmen pestering about their customized sonic shower pulsators" commented Sika.

"Lets hope that the supply quartermaster is in a good mood and gives us what we want." Binea smirked a little. "A couple of years ago Commander Tigran and an old chief engineer snuck into one of the warehouses and transported away a load of supplies they wouldn't let us have."

Sika smirked ever so slightly, but he was definitely ammused hearing about one of the past adventures of his new Commanding Officer. "I can only imagine the supply quartermaster was not thrilled about that" he replied. "When I was with the Maquis, we would often have to take what we needed in order to fight the good fight against the Cardassians."

"Should have seen the look on the old Captains face when she found out what we had done." Binea smirked, she had played a very minor part in the little raid.

"Well, apparently it was not anything too bad" he said with a nod. "I see you both made it through with your careers blossoming just fine. Tigran is now the Commanding Officer and you were Acting Chief Operations Officer" he stated with his observation.

"Me and Tigran have been here together for along time." Binea said. "Back when she was just a Lieutenant and me a lowly Ensign."

Sika nodded. "It shows dedication and loyalty to the ship and to the crew in some ways. Though sometimes staying in one place for too long can be a career hinderence. In your cases though, it looks like it was the right move."

"And I hope it stays the right move." Binea remarked.

The Bajoran grunted a bit, but it was a pleasant sort of grunt. One that showed he was thinking, mulling things over, and listening. "I believe it will. So long as you stay true to yourself, you will do well wherever you so decide to be or go. As your Department Head, it will be part of my responsibility to make sure you are given the support you need to grow as an officer."

"Thank you Sir. Hopefully me and the crew can live up to any of your expectations." She added.

Sika pointed to the rank pips on his collar. "These mean only so much." He said nonchalantly. "What matters most to me is that you don't get put on report, you follow safety protocols to the letter, and you do your jobs effectively. It's not my expectations that I will hold you to, but rather the expectations of Starfleet and of the Captain."

Binea smiled. "You'll get no problems from me or the crew, the old ones anyway, can't speak for all these new ones."

He nodded. It was entirely understandable not to know how new personnel would be. "Then, I will count on the old guard to train the new guard on how things operate around here. If we have any problems, then we will take care of them. Operations needs to run as smoothly and as well choreographed as possible."

"And it will do, you have my word on that." Binea made him a promise and she never broke them.

"Your word from what I have heard and seen from your personnel file is quite good." replied Sika. "You are the kind of officer that the Wolff needs and the kind that I need as support for the Department" he added. "Together, I do believe we can keep Operations running and functioning thoroughly, Lieutenant" Sika finished.

"I was about to give out the assignments for the beta shift crew coming in before you arrived, I can give you the tour and introduce you to the team leaders if you want?" Binea offered.

Sika grunted and nodded. Be the face he thought to himself. They needed someone to picture, someone they could go to aside from Binea. "Yes" he said gruffly. "I think that would be wise. Introduce me to them. I want them to know the Department had a Head" he added.

Binea stepped to the side to allow Sika to leave the office first. "After you Sir."

The gentlemen in him wanted to say ladies first, but his combat experience and service in the militia and Starfleet had taught him a valuable point over the years. There were no ladies in Starfleet. There were officers, enlisted, superiors, and subordinates. There was a structure, but when it came to the sexual reproductive organs or the gender identity, none of that mattered with a uniform on. He simply looked at Binea, nodded and procceeded out the exit.
