Mission:
The Silent Scream
Location: USS Wolff | Sickbay
After his 'delightful' initial meeting with the starship's Commanding Officer, Captain Tigran, Lieutenant Commander Ty Acevedo took several minutes to get settled into his quarters and freshened up with the sonic shower. He was not due to actually report on duty for a while, but there was an endless list of things that he needed to get out of the way.
Towards the top of that list was to take care of a physical examination with the USS Wolff's Chief Medical Officer and to have a Psychological evaluation conducted by the starship's Chief Counsellor. These were two things that needed to be dealt with before Ty could actually assume his duties as First Officer to full capacity.
Burgundy tunic and black trousers, Ty thought he would head to Sickbay and get the physical examination out of the way first. He had been in the Starbase long enough that all his medical and personnel files had reached there pending his next assignment. Without question, they had made their way to the USS Wolff by now.
A quick ride on the turbo lift and brisk stroll down some corridors, consulting the starship's internal maps along the way lead him to Sickbay where he soon discovered he'd have the odds stacked against him albeit pleasantly so. He saw to female officers mid-conversation when he stepped in. One was clearly a Doctor by her attire worn. Maybe the Chief Medical Officer he speculated to himself.
"Good afternoon, ladies," he said pleasantly to them both. "I am new aboard the Wolff and I was hoping to track down the Chief Medical Officer? I need to make sure my medical files have been received and I could use a physical so that I may report to duty sooner rather than later."
Summer offered a warm smile as she turned to look at the new arrival. “Well you’re definitely in luck!” She motioned to Arendalwyn. “This is Doctor Miteryl, and I’m Summer Wyse Chief Counsellor.”
Arendalwyn, nodded to the Lieutenant Commander. "I am Doctor Miteryl, welcome to Sickbay, she motioned to the Bio bed area for annual crew physicals. " Please have a seat here and we will begin your physical ."
Ty flashed a small pleased smile. Everything is coming up roses he thought to himself. "Actually, I have a date with the two of you, but if you ladies wouldn't mind sharing me for a few minutes, I have no problem getting everything settled here and now."
He proceeded to have a seat. "Counsellor Wyse, I'll need a psych eval to make sure I am psychologically fit for duty." He hadn't introduced himself yet but made quick work of doing so. "Lieutenant Commander Acevedo, a pleasure to meet you both."
“Likewise Commander” Summer smiled warmly. “We can do your evaluation once you’re finished here.”
"I'm a bit pressed for time, no offense," replied Ty. "If Doctor Miteryl has no issue with it, I wouldn't mind you asking me some questions while she takes some scans."
“Well it’s somewhat unusual Commander” Summer pondered over the request. “We can always rearrange for when you’re free.”
Ty smirked. "Ah, you like to get your victims alone," he teased. "It's unorthodox, but I can't say when I'd be free. Captian Tigran and I have a list of things to get through as soon as possible. This was kind of a last-minute temporary assignment for me, but I will be assuming the duties of First Officer for the starship."
“I see, so you weren’t planning on moving here then?” Summer looked at Tyrus curiously.
"Due to the nature of a physical with the CMO and an appointment with the Chief Counsellor, it is impossible to conduct both, simultaneously; however.... back to back is logical." The CMO offered ...
logic he thought to himself. "I'm in no place to disagree. Counsellor, feel free to prep while I have this physical. I'll make time to do it after," he added.
Though he did want to address her one initial question. "I was not planning on moving here nor being here at all. The starship I was going to be assigned to was destroyed while I was waiting. Because the Wolff's current circumstances, Starfleet placed me here for the time being."
Summer nodded. “Better than hanging around with nowhere to go Commander.” She smiled warmly. “My Office is all ready it won’t take long to pull up your file so I’ll wait for you.” She stepped out of the doctor’s way to let her get on with the physical.
Ty nodded. "Forewarning Doctor, I have a history of sprains, strains, a some breaks over the years. Bumps and bruises were pretty commonplace as an Engineer."
"Good to note, she said to Ty and totally expected from the Engineering Department, which comes in second for my all time department with injuries that Title is still held by a Collegiate Football program, that I did work with for a year... All those broken clavicle s, and flanges. " She smiled as she scanned Ty and updated his chart. "You should take more Quantum Omegafatty acids, it will help keep your soft tissues and skeletal system running smoother.... two a day and I know they do help, I fell off the pyramid top in Collegiate Cheerleading, and when it rains.... yes I feel it." She said as she continued her medical scans.
Ty had no argument for her recommendation. He accepted it freely deferring to her expertise. "Anything you recommend, I'm willing to try. I need to keep my mind sharp and this well oiled machine going" he added with a small chuckle.
He let the woman continue scanning. "Overall, my health hasn't been too bad. I mean I occasionally need some treatment for my liver. I get into the non synthetic ales from time to time."
"Hummm, I drink liver detox herb tea, I find it good for cleansing the liver. Your liver profile is good for your age, watch the alcohol intake, diet exercise. You know the daily drill."
Ty nodded and scoffed. "Yeah, I know it. I know it well...the daily drill" he replied repeating the term. "Looking like you'll be able to dot your Is and cross your Ts for me? I could use a good bill of health to start my duties."
"Your scans are within normal limits, and you know how life in the Fleet is. If you have anything illness wise in the future, you know where we are."
"Yes ma'am I do," replied Ty scooting off a bed and getting ready to scurry as quickly as he could. "Just let the Captain know I am cleared. I have to go squeeze in this counselling."
With that, Ty was out the doors.
