Mission: Crisis at Zeta-294
Location: Main Engineering
Timeline: md01

The doors into Main Engineering swished open and in walked a short blonde woman. Her sharp green eyes looked around as she examined the surroundings. Her high twintails seemed to flow as she strode into the ships large warp core. It was currently offline and a dull grey. She stood with her arms crossed looking up at the core before she turned to face the rest of the engine room.

"Can I have everyone's attention!" She called out loudly.

Several heads turned in the direction of the surprisingly loud voice coming from the surprisingly short woman who'd just entered engineering

Lt. Hunnicutt was halfway inside a panel when she called out and he grimaced as his head his the top. He shifted his body to poke his head out, saw the officer, and sighed as he pushed himself up to stand.

"First things first. I am Lieutenant Marie Breguet. The new chief engineer here. You can call me 'Chief' or 'Lieutenant'. I am here to get this ship out of drydock and back into space." She announced to them all. "I need status reports on all systems and an update on what you're working on. So speak up."

Lieutenant Kail stepped forwards slightly, surprised they'd gotten a new chief to fill Dovenice's position so quickly. "Lieutenant Kail Sir," He said by way of introducing himself before speaking again. "More permanent hull breach repairs are underway, there's a team from the station Eva on the engineering hull. Decks 12 and 13 are habitable again so we can access the shield generators without needing suits again."

"Impulse engines are good to go, we're working on the warp engines we can still go to warp but nowhere fast for now." Debbie Larson reported.

"Ok." Marie said. "I'm going to need a full list of all repairs and who's assigned to what." She told them all.

Hunnicutt looked at her for a moment before he moved to the main console, bringing up the list of repairs. "I'll just transfer them to a PADD for your convenience, ma'am."

Marie nodded. "So, you should all understand that I run a tight ship. I expect everyone to give their best at all times."

"Of course Sir." Darzen told her. "For a nearly twenty year old ship the Wolff is still in her prime years. That's all thanks to those you see here."

"Ok, well. First things first. Its been reported that we have several fused warp coils. We're going to need to isolate them, disconnect them, remove the outer hull plating of the nacelles and slot in new ones. Get them connected, aligned and online. Everything else we can do on the fly." Marie told them all.

"Preliminary work is already underway, last status update was they've got all the plating off." Debbie explained, it was her team that was assisting the shipyard team to do the work. "I'll be joining them soon."

"Ok, that's top priority." Marie said. "What else do we have to do?"

"I've a team getting geared up right now to access the shield generators, the emitter grid itself is in good condition but the generators themselves need ripping out and replacing entirely." Another engineer told the new boss.

"New shield generators too..." Marie sighed. "Would it be easier to tell me what's right with this ship?"

"The most damage we took were to the warp engines and shield grids," Darzen replied. "Impulse, weapons and all aspects of life support are good."

Marie placed a palm on her forehead. "Ok. So when are the new parts coming? Do we at least have an ETA on them?"

"The shipyard manager has our request forms for what we can't replicate ourselves but you know what ship builders are like," Debbie huffed slightly and spared a glance to one of the assembled petty officers, he'd not long transferred from building ships to maintaining them. "forms in triplicate, all signed and dated, won't let us have their last stock of things...."

"Oh really?" Marie said. "Well, I will be having a word with them." she assured Debbie. "What exactly won't they let us have?"

Debbie shook her head slightly. "All sorts but top of the list is the Ion Mix Stabilisers for the shield grid, we can replicate pretty much all the components but assembling them from parts will take at least two days and another to install and calibrate them. Without them we can't do any more work on the grid."

"And its a fairly complex piece of equipment," Marie reminded her. "They each need to be calibrated within six microns in order for them to form a functional shield from the emitters. And we need to ensure that the EPS flow is adequate so they get enough juice." Marie added. "Do you think you'll be able to do all that?".

"Once they're installed the calibration is simple," The Petty Officer Debbie had glanced at replied. "Installing them is the hard part, there's a reason we install the generators first then build the room around it."

"Yeah, I know..." Marie replied. "I want you to take charge on that." she turned and looked up at the warp core which was still lifeless and grey. She looked back at her engineers and thumbed to the core. "Hows that? Just offline because of spacedock, or knackered like everything else?"

"The warp core is good to go," Darzen replied. "Antimatter tanks need a top up but that is no trouble for the shipyard."

"That's at least one thing we don't have to worry about." Marie said with a sigh of relief. "Ok then people, lets get to work. We have a lot to do and not much time to do it. Lets get cracking!"

"You heard the new chief," Darzen announced. "Lets get moving. Jenkins soon as your team is finished you can take your break but then I want you on Deck 10, Ops just raised a ticket about the deflector dish. Ishi get me an updated eta on the fuelers." He continued dishing out more instructions as the officers and enlisted dispersed
