Altair IV

Altair IV is a Class M world, and fourth planet of the Altair System. It is currently a semi-autonomous Human colony governed by Altair VI.

It is believed that the original inhabitants of the planet were settlers from the Vegan Tyranny, and that they were wiped out by a viral outbreak sometime in the 15th Century.

The planet declared its independence in 2267, prompting a brief but violent war with Altair VI. The Federation sent peacekeepers and successfully negotiated a peace by supporting a new president.

Altair IV is famous for its renown Central Hospital and Starfleet Diplomatic Affairs campus.
