"Chief Payton has mere days to live. He was bitten by a creature and there is no cure. I simply thought you may wish to say goodbye."

"Lead me to him Doctor, at least this time I have a choice to say good bye. Any special precautions you want me to take to be with him?" Anthony asked.

She shook her head. "No. He is not contagious." She stood and lead the way to the room. "He's in there. I will ensure you have privacy."

And now on home again home again part 2:

“Thank you Doctor Seleya I will be out soon I am sure.” Anthony said as he went in and closed the door. “So Chief you went and got yourself deaded by being a hero again! I told you to do that only when I could be taking pictures of it!”

Hunter smiled. "I was just talking about you." He said. The room obviously empty.

Anthony looked around just to make sure he couldn’t actually see anyone before he said “First sign of madness psychologist’s say...” He left that to t in. “Okay Chief to whom have you been speaking to me about?”

"Galatea. She was just here. She says she's waiting for me." He smiled and reached out a hand to Anthony. "Not much time now but listen. I've made Seleya the executer of my will." He laughed, "But there is something I want you to have."

As soon as he heard Galatea’s name a tear came to his eye. Though he also knew what Seleya had said was true, his friend was on his last legs. Though he was also curious as to what Payton wanted him to have. “Okay so I am guessing that you want to give it to me personally. I like that idea.”

He looked around. "Can you spring me from here? We can go to my quarters."

“Well Doctor Seleya says your not contagious though, I expect she would prefer to keep you in a place where she or a nurse can keep an eye on you, that said If you promise to return directly on your own accord, but she has the over all say because she can bench the captain and it not be called mutiny.” Anthony said.

"Pft. Where is your sense of adventure." He sat up slowly. "Keep a look out."

“I think I lost is somewhere between Masters and Doctorate. Especially when I get told someone is terminal. What silly thing did you do you do to get you in that predicament?” Anthony was still not sure how he was feeling over losing Galatea to Payton, and just as quickly lost her and now was going to lose another friend. “The pains of space travel I suppose.” He added.

"Indeed. I got bit by something." Hunter got to his feet. "Alright. Ready to go." He could feel he was weak but he could make it to his quarters.

Slowly he made his way to the door and snuck by Seleya whose back was turned. He motioned for Edwards to follow.

Anthony shook his head but decided to humour him and followed Payton to his quarters. “I just hope I don’t regret this.”

He grinned. "Vulcans don't get mad." He grinned even more. "They get even."

"Ha, they might control their emotions Payton but they still get them!" Anthony said as they walked toward Payton's quarters then added, "Ad you won't have to live with her much longer I will."


The trip to the quarters was short and once inside a sadness washed over Payton. "I will miss this place." He said. He turned and handed Edwards a wood box he'd pulled from the shelf. "This was Galatea's she left it to me and to you." It was a box of Miniature statues of figures throughout the galaxy. "She collected them and having them always reminded me of her."

Anthony was surprised, he now knew that he did mean more than just a friend to Doctor Polaris the question came before his could think about it as he asked "So she left to both of use, or did she leave it to you and you want it to be continued to be filled?"

"She left it to both of us. I didn't have the time to talk to you about it with all that was happening." He handed it to Edwards. "Take care of them. These brought her so much joy."

“Thank you Payton I shall cherish them. Galatea was a good and I can almost feel her presence with these little figurines.” Anthony said he would dearly miss both his friends.

"Alright. Back I go."

“I will stay with you. The doctor said your not contagious so their should be no reason I can’t. Almost like seeing you off that way you will spend your final hours with a friend just like Galatea! Unfortunately the same friend.” Anthony said.
