Mission:
The Silent Scream
Location: XO’s quarters
Timeline: 20th April 2395- 2135hrs
ON:
After their little bit of fun in the turbolift Summer had found herself more curious than ever about the ship’s XO. Making her way to his quarters she pressed the chime and awaited an answer.
Ty had begun to unwind after the day he had. The USS Pandora was not like any other starship he had been on, and the crew? They were an interesting bunch to say the least. He was not sure what he thought about any of them yet, Captain included. However, Summer Wyse, the ship's Counsellor was one that was making an impression on him.
When the door chime rang, the Commander, now just dressed in an undershirt and some trousers was casual, and clearly off duty. He headed to the door and pressed the pannel to open it. "Ah...fancy seeing you at my door."
Walking just inside the doors Summer offered a smile. “Forgive the intrusion Commander, after our.... discussion in the turbolift earlier today I thought I’d drop by and see if you’d like to... further the discussion?” She smiled a wry smile.
"Oh you can intrude anytime," he said and stepped aside gesturing her to make herself at home. "And I love a good evening conversation."
“Good, I was hoping you would” Summer grinned as she moved towards the sofa. “So.... do you enjoy flirting with women a lot?”
Ty laughed at the inquiry and sighed. He walked over to the replicator. "You come to my quarters while im off duty asking about flirtation counsellor, when really I should be the one asking you the questions. Perhaps something like do you take pleasure in seducing superior officers?"
“Seducing?” Summer grinned. “I believe you were the one almost pushing me up against the turbolift wall Commander.”
"May I get you anything?" Ty offered as he stood near the replicator. He was going to get himself something and didn't want to be rude. She was a guest in essentially his home. He smiled warmly at her. "Oh but let's not forget the prelude to the turbolift, Counsellor. As I recall someone had some very intimate questioning during my psych evaluation."
Summer nodded. “I guess I did at that.” She sat back in her seat and made herself comfortable. “I guess I’ve been without the company for too long.”
She hadn't given him a beverage request. distracted by my rugged handsomeness or intoxicated with my masculinity he teased to himself. It was a bit of a self-stroking of his ego, but he carried in nonetheless. "Computer, two Mexican hot chocolates, with whipped cream" he ordered from the replicator.
He carried the two glasses, one in each hand over towards where the Counsellor was seated. Ty handed one of the warm chocolaty beverages to Summer. "How long is too long?" he inquired, curious was her romantic life was like.
Summer sipped her drink before answering. “Long enough, almost a year if you want exact figures and that wasn’t serious.”
"So they are a non-factor, out of the picture, and you are completely free," Ty replied with a smirk. "Now that's some good news. I'd hate to be luring a woman away from her spouse again. Those things can get incredibly messy."
“I wouldn’t know” Summer grinned. “I’m as you said, free with no ties. Does that mean you’re interested in spending some.... time with me?”
Ty took a sip of his hot chocolate and looked at her over the brim of the mug. "Aren't I spending time with you now?" he countered lowering his mug. "I doubt this will be the last evening where you come to my quarters when I'm off duty, looking for those deep...intimate...thought-provoking -- uh discussions."
Summer smiled. “What if I’d like more than those... thought-provoking discussions?”
Ty smiled broadly. "Well, I think I would have to say that anything is possible if you are willing to put in the hard work and effort. I'm not going to be as easy of a win as most men, but that's part of the fun...the chase."
“Oh really?” Summer grinned and then sipped her drink again. “So does that mean you’d rather spend this evening alone?”
"You haven't even made much of a dent in that glass of Mexican hot chocolate yet," Ty replied. "How about we take it somewhat slow, and you ask me some questions. A less formal counseling session?" He liked the thought of playing some games with her.
“Okay... so just how long has it been for you? Have you managed to chase away many women?” Summer smiled as she sipped her hot chocolate.
Ty shrugged. "Depends on how you look at it. I haven't had a serious relationship since before Starfleet at least nothing that isn't just a footnote in my life's history, nobody since Starfleet has been worth mentioning. Then there are the ones that are just two passing ships in the night. I couldn't even tell you the names of some of those."
“Then you obviously didn’t meet the right women!” Summer grinned. “Maybe you just need to spend the night the right woman.” She sipped her drink.
"All I know at this point is the Chief Engineer is not the right woman, thank the stars," he replied. "THAT woman is a pain in the ass and I think we all are going to have our hands full with her," he said shaking his head. I know. You want to be the right woman he thought privately.
Summer gave him a curious look. “Ohh she’s got a mind of her own that’s for sure, but let’s give her a chance.” She crossed her legs as she made herself more comfortable. “So what in your mind constitutes the right woman for you?”
"One with feminine energy for starters, the Captain does not give that off, and as for our delightful Chief Engineer? I've met burly and beefy ore miners with more feminity," Ty replied. "So, there is one thing for starts. Secondly, I like someone that is intellectual. I do not want to have to feel like I am explaining everything to them."
“Of course” Summer nodded, she had to wonder if he’d ever stop beating around the bush and take advantage of her. She wanted to be the woman he found feminine and interesting enough to sweep off her feet. "So, do you like take-charge women? Those who know what they want and go for it?”
He contemplated that for a moment. I'm not overly fond of it he thought. "I do not mind them. I don't consider myself sexist, Counsellor. If that is what you are thinking? I'll take orders from a woman in a position superior to me no problem. However, that does not attract me in a relationship. Though I do not want an entirely subservient woman either."
“I can understand that” Summer smiled as she finished her drink. “Well look at that I’ve finished my drink. I guess the question is... do you find me feminine enough, non subservient and with enough intellect to interest you?”
You move so fast that we'd turn into space salamanders he thought about a report about the USS Voyager's shuttle breaking the warp 9.99 barrier and hitting warp factor 10, and the effects it had on the captain and her helmsmen. Ty stretched his arms out above his head and smiled at the Counsellor. "Getting late, you probably should retire to your quarters and dream happy dreams."
Summer nodded. “In that case thank you for the drink Commander” she stood and politely nodded feeling pretty awkward about just about everything. “I’ll see you on the bridge in the morning.”
Ty nodded and flashed a mischievous smile as he watched the woman leave his quarters.
