Mission: A marathon not a sprint
Location: Deck 1- Bridge
Timeline: MD13

In her ready room Taliserra sat at her desk, the last five days had been full of tension, Dokken and his cloaking device equipped vessel could be sat right behind them ready to attack again

"Computer begin recording." She called out, after a sip of tea she took a deep breath and began to speak.

"Captain's log stardate 72636.5, after a day of repairs, a day of crawling at barely over warp 2 and 5 days of hoping that Dokken and his Crocell wouldn't suddenly show up and attack us again we're almost at our destination, a rogue planet that is almost in eternal darkness is an odd place to build a shipyard but in the build up to the dominion war it was considered an unlikely place for them to be aware of, and that luckily proved to be the case.

The Wolff has taken a beating, so has the Marathon but we're almost there now and we can hopefully effect the more substantial repairs we need to be fully operational again. Then hopefully fleet intel will give us the green light to go after Tikhar Mahan and end whatever it is he is planning to use the dead skull privateers for."

Sitting in the command chair as Captain Tigran was in her ready room, a message came across the chair's panel. The USS Wolff was fifteen minutes from arrival at Dakala. As the Captain had requested he let know when they were fifteen minutes out from arrival. =/\=Captain we are fifteen minutes out from Dakala now Ma'am!=/\= Edwards ended the call.

=/\= Thank you Lieutenant, I'll be out shortly.=/\=

Anthony smiled before adding =/\=Yes Captain we'll be ready for you.=/\=

In a rare bout of bridge duty, a nice change from the frantic attempts to repair both ships over the last five days Debbie Larson sat at the engineering station. "I hope the shipyard have the parts we need, otherwise we're gonna be in trouble till we can get to somewhere like starbase 74." She remarked aloud.

"Anything to stay out of a starbase long term." Anthony said with a chuckle. "I know how you feel. I am sure that as a fit and finish starbase should have what we need."

Walking onto the bridge Summer offered a polite nod to those present, she wasn’t feeling that comfortable with being alone after being whisked off once already, so she’d decided to be where she had company and the bridge was one place she liked to be.

"Welcome back Summer!" Anthony said with a smile, glad she was back on the Wolff bridge again.

Summer offered a warm smile as she looked in Anthony’s direction. “Thank you.”

Ash glanced back over her shoulder with a half smile at seeing Summer. She was still a little worried about her after her forced escapade, but at least she was back where she should be. "Don't worry, you haven't missed much...a lot of sparks, a lot of technobabble, a lot of swearing..."

"A lot of swearing..." Debbie added. "you should have heard the stuff Lieutenant Kail came out with when one of the London's engineers nearly took his arm off with a plasma cutter."

"All's well with Operations. Engineering...not so much, but I'm sure you could tell that without my help," Brendan turned and smiled weakly. It was his first time on the bridge officially. "Wait, how did he make Lieutenant is he's that dangerous with a plasma cutter?" Brendan giggled at his own comment.

Summer couldn’t help but grin at the lighthearted banter. It felt good to be where she belonged, perhaps she hadn’t really thought about it before her kidnapping, but the Wolff and the crew had become her new home and family.

Hadir manned his station and kept an eye on all of the security feeds. At the moment it seemed to be business as usual. However, the Cardassian knew better than most that this was when the worst events occurred.

Anthony listened to all that was going on around him, he formulated his report to Captain Tigran as he did for when she came out and accepted control of the bridge from him. He chuckled at Lieutenant Dernah’s comment. “I think you’ll find Lieutenant Kail was swearing at an engineering junior from USS London for almost performing surgery on him.”

"Ah, that makes so much more sense. Thank you, Lieutenant Edwards," Brendan replied.

The door to the ready room opened but Taliserra didn't emerge immediately, pausing at the threshold she listened for a few seconds to the conversation going between the officers. It was nice to hear them chatting normally, especially the newly assigned ones. "What's out status Lieutenant?" She asked Anthony as she headed for the command area.

Anthony stood to let the Captain take her place at the centre of the Bridge. As he did he started his report. "Tactical & Operations report that their departments are all good for having been at war, while Engineering says that repairs are proceeding nicely, and Lieutenant Kail swearing at the London’s Engineers, is helping him keep accidents under control. They have compiled a list of parts they will need from the shipyard to continue with repairs that are still underway. Meanwhile, Science is returning to a new normal, the bridge systems and sensors are working again, not to full capacity. The best sensors running at the moment are tactical as they are the most necessary in a fight. The Science Labs are still a mess, but I guess that could be said about many of the stations after that little battle situation. It is good to have the Councillor back where she should be. Medical are still dealing with some of the repercussions of our misunderstanding." After he finished the report, he made his way to the science station.

"Thank you Lieutenant." Taliserra said smiling as her CSO finished his report and left the chair. Quickly sitting down She looked to her helm officer. "Ash, ever warped into Dakala before?"

"Can't say I have, Captain," Ash admitted openly, shaking her head lightly as she shifted to prop an arm up on the back of her chair as she looked round. She was still making up for lost time in the fleet. "I read that we're probably in for a rough time though..."

"A small perpetually dark rogue planet in the middle of otherwise empty space isn't the easiest thing to find, unless you already know where it is." Taliserra explained. "No stars to worry about, no asteroids or nebula, no unusual phenomena to confuse sensor readings. Only a planet and a small shipyard complex, just be sure not to hit either of them, or you're fired." She chuckled slightly. "Drop us out of warp at a safe distance."

Ash gave a wry smile as she settled back to work at her console, nodding firmly as she took a moment to validate their position. "Looks like we're about 8 minutes out, Captain."

"Lieutenant Dernah..." Taliserra called out to the new chief Ops officer manning the station beside Ash. "open a channel to the Marathon."

"Channel open, Captain," Brendan said after his hands ran over his console.

"Almost home Commander Munro," Taliserra said as the viewscreen lit up with an image of the Marathon's bridge. "I wish I could have added 'safe and sound' to that."

"We are just grateful to be arriving," Munro said with a small chuckle, his eyes on her. "Thanks for the assist. Hopefully your next mission will be calmer."

"I hope so too." Taliserra replied. "I have a feeling we'll be sat here for a few days at least with the repairs we need, if there's any way my crew can help you be sure to ask."

"I will, thank you. Although I suspect you have all seen quite enough of us," Munro said, almost deadpan except the slight smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.

"Never, it was good to operate alongside another federation ship, the Wolff has operated solo for so long we sometimes forget there are thousands of other ships out there." Taliserra smiled slightly. "I hope the transwarp experiment is more successful this time around."

"So do I," Munro said before he gave a nod. "We'll see what happens. But...we appreciate the assist, Captain."

"You're welcome Commander." Taliserra gave a small smile of her own. "I doubt the Privateers will attempt to attack a federation facility of this size but I'll brief the station Commander, keep your eyes open."

"Oh, I'm not planning on sitting on my arse waiting for trouble to find me," Munro assured her, giving a small nod of recognition. "Marathon out."

"Bringing us out of warp, Captain..." The stars on the viewscreen slowly shifted back from their elongated streaks to shining dots that became fewer and far between as the ship slowed to impulse. Ash glanced over the data of the surrounding area, adjusting carefully to the local spacescape. "Can report we did not hit the planet or the dock, Captain..."

"Good," Taliserra huffed slightly as she took in the site of the planet that was almost as black as the space around it and the small shipyard complex that orbited it. "Hold position 2 million kilometers away from one of the docks. Ops contact the harbour master, advise them on what repairs we need and see if they can fit us in."

"Aye, Captain. Hailing the dock master now," Dernah waited for a few minutes and returned to the Captain, "They ask that we hold position near the Sigma dock and give them a few more minutes to get it ready, Captain."

Ash rolled her eyes at the delay in the safety of her forward facing position, knowing no one would catch it. "Still...holding..." she confirmed lightly.

Brendan giggled and said, "Proceed into the dock at your pleasure, Lieutenant."

Hadir performed a cursory scan of the planet, docks, and surrounding system. Nothing out of the ordinary just standard procedure. "Standard scans show everything as it should be." He reported to the Captain.

Summer couldn’t help but grin at the lighthearted banter between the bridge crew, the sooner the ship got repairs sorted the better off they’d be.

Jack let out a soft breath, a small smile coming to him as he looked over at the Captain, giving her a nod. It all sounded good.

"You heard him Ash, park us in the inside Sigma dock, Ensign Larson, standby for external power coupling and warp core shutdown." Taliserra instructed.

"Aye, Captain..." Ash brought them round, pulling back her usual racing instinct, taking her time to ensure they were perfectly lined up. The ship slowed, gliding toward the dock until it came to an elegant stand still.

"Captain, we're docked and are now on external power," Brendan said after the ship came to a stand still.

"Ensign, begin shutting down the warp core." Taliserra sat back in her chair and almost sighed in relief, there was a security from being in and around a starfleet facility again. "Lieutenants Edwards, Dernah and Rowe, co-ordinate with the shipyard crews about our repairs, Hadir find out if this facility has any photons to restock us with." She then turned to the officers sat beside her. "We're probably going to be here for at least a few days, see what facilities are available."

"We'll get right on that, Captain," Brendan said quickly.

"I'll get on with compiling a list of needs for science for replenishment from the station right away captain!" Anthony said from his place at the science console on the bridge. As he had been spending extra hours down below cleaning the labs with his team his list was almost complete already and he just had to send the requisition through the chain of command for approval for it to be filled if the station had the equipment to replace what was lost in their firefight.

"I'm thinking a spa...a cocktail bar...maybe a place to buy some overpriced shiny things..." Ash chuckled softly, already sending messages to the shipyard to confirm their condition and repair needs.

"I want a sauna, if that works for anyone else, please let me know," Brendan laughed while saying that.

"Aye sir. Filing the request with their operations department now." Hadir replied without looking up from his station.

“Might be fun to see what this place has to offer” Summer smiled. “Think I might do a little exploring. I’m always on the lookout for a bargain.”

Jack watched the others, a small smile coming to him. They all deserved a break.

"I'll be in the ready room if you need me, you have the bridge Commander." Taliserra said with a smile to Jack then stood up.

"Yes Captain," Jack said and gave a firm nod.
