Kotakian

Kotakians are an ancient peoples, believed to have been a race that colonized Kotaki III during the 14th Century. They are Human-like in most aspects, save the color of their hair which ranges from light blue to violet. According to what history has survived, 200 years after the colony was established, contact with their home world ceased. The civilization had to rebuilt from the ground up, even though they possessed technologically advanced means.

The Kotakians first traded with the Kressari and Farians for many centuries, and eventually this expanded to the Bajorans, Cardassians, and the Federation. Because they possessed better, more advanced ships the species became a major power in the Kalandra sector until the 23rd Century. A brief, violent commerce war with the Tzenkethi Coalition (2252-55) cost the Kotakians dearly. They are only now returning to their extensive spacefaring ways.

Kotaki III officially denounced the Occuption of Bajor by the Cardassians in 2328, but remained neutral during the Dominion War.
